Friday Finds

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by again to check out my list of finds for the week. Halloween is definitely sneaking up on me. To host a cocktail party, or to not host a cocktail party? What is Lydia actually going to be for Halloween? I definitely have a few things to wrap up before Monday hits. However, while I have been brainstorming some ideas, I came across some of the awesome things other bloggers are up to in preparation for the end of October festivities.

I am gearing up to host a little Halloween cocktail party and I will admit, I typically don’t do a ton of decorating for this holiday. I’m not in love with the traditional yellow, orange and black color palette.  BUT, Paper and Stitch really came out with cute ideas with this color combo in their party ideas post.

One of the things I love most about Halloween are the unique ideas people come up with for costumes. I think that’s pretty hard to do, which is why I had to share Oh Happy Day’s painted ladies Halloween costume how-to.

The other thing I am always on the look out for this time of year is different ways to decorate pumpkins. Of course, The House That Lars Built would come up with something completely fun and unique. Check out the paint job on these pumpkins.

It is only October, but if you want to stay ahead of the game like I do, your holiday season planning is already underway. So, in the spirit of staying inspired and organized for this busy cooking time of year, here is Waiting on Martha’s holiday entertaining book list.

I shared some Halloween cocktails last Friday, but just look at this Deathly Hallows cocktail by Half Baked Harvest. Umm…..yes please. If you don’t get the title’s reference….I’m not really sure what to say.

So, we attend a mothly-ish wine tasting night, I stumbled upon this dip and GORGEOUS blog and decided that I will be giving this sweet potato dip a try for tomorrow night’s tasting.

Hey! Healthy is possible in October! Here are some pumpkin wedges from Models Jam for you to include in your list of healthy things this season.

If you didn’t already know about this, I’m sorry….things are probably selling out. BUTTTT, there still might be a chance to scoop these picks of mine up from the super duper J.Crew clearance happening now.

There are a few weeks left to plant some bulbs so that you have something to look forward to in the Spring! For your reference, Design Sponge just published a list of their top 10 fall bulbs and where you can get them.

One of my favorite places to go for floral arrangement inspo and when I am looking to plant something new, I head to Floret Flowers. They currently have bulbs for sale, but you will need to hurry because they sell out fast.

I am totally in love with Jojotastic’s blog. It something I check on a regular basis. Check out her latest Halloween tablescape. It’s one with NO pumpkins and it’s lovely and saturated in black. Love it.

There is still time to enter to win a FREE Smile Brilliant whitening kit. You can check out the product review here, enter the giveaway and get a $20 coupon code all in my product review post.

See you next Friday! Enjoy your weekend 🙂
